The Clerk of Works Department is able to draw on the extensive and varied expertise of all the other Disciplines. This enables us to tailor the level of service to best suit the requirements of individual projects. Our team has over twenty years experience covering Architectural Design and Civil & Structural Engineering.

The role of a Clerk of Works is to act as an independent inspector on site on behalf of the client. Inspections are carried out for items relating to Civil and Structural Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Architecture and fit. Checking that the works are being constructed in accordance with the drawings and specification and to the requisite quality.

Clerks of Works have contractual duties and powers, which vary slightly dependant on the contract used; but simply they are able to issue directions subject to written confirmation from the Contract Administrator.  The level of our involvement depends on the nature and size of the project, the contract used and the client’s requirements. This could be a constant on site presence or a more fluid visiting role.

We are also able to carry out visits on an ad hoc basis to look at specific items of the build if that is required, to fulfill design audits or undertake third party reports.
